International Museum Day
Sunday, May 21
On the occasion of the International Museum Day on Sunday, the 21st of May 2017, two guided tours will take place in the Zander Collection. Marjatta Hölz, the curator of the exhibition “Bruno Diemer (1924 – 1962). Floating Along the Edge of the Abyss. Relations, Still Life, City Scapes” gives at 11:30 am an insight into the works of the Bönnigheimer artist. Afterwards the guided tour “Artists of the Zander Collection in the Context of National Socialism” takes place at 2 pm. The tour will deal with those artists whose traumatic experiences in national socialism have become a catalyst for their art. The guide will deal, among others, with works by Adalbert Trillhaase, who was considered a degenerate artist, as well as with Willem van Genk and Rosemarie Koczy, a Holocaust survivor, whose work was heavily influenced by her years in the concentration camp.
The start of the guided tours is at 11:30 am and at 2 pm, the costs for entrance and guided tour are € 8,50, reduced € 6,50. Both guided tours are held in German.
