Adolf Dietrich (1877–1957) was an eminent Swiss artist. He worked in agriculture, as a forestry laborer, and, for a time, in a cotton underwear factory. Photographs and sketches he took on his walks served him as sources for his paintings. His art garnered public recognition in the 1920s, when the New Objectivity was in its heyday, enabling him for some time to making a living from his art.
