Nathan Heber (1902–1975) was born in Zolochiv, Austria-Hungary (now Ukraine), and emigrated with his family in 1936. The settled in Haifa, Palestine (now Israel), where he opened a butcher shop. He started painting in the 1960s. His work depicts his family’s history in Poland and Jewish traditions.
