Art Brut Tour, 2 pm
Early on Charlotte Zander collected art from outsiders, at a time when the term art brut already existed, but was not common. In the wide spectrum of the collection, a main emphasis emerged, for example the works of Adolf Wölfli, Friedrich Schröder-Sonnenstern, Scottie Wilson, Carlo Zinelli and the artists of Gugging. Often, these artworks came into being unnoticed by the outside world and yet they put the unusual und subversive in the foreground – strategies that are comparable to contemporary art.
